I have a PC100 Mother Board M598 ver 5.0 rev 1A. The flash bios update has a problem which will cause the PC not to boot (according to the WWW site). They recommend an EPROM programmer.

Where can I get one? How much does it cost? How does one do this?

If it an award BIOS - have you gone to that home page as yet?

They have multiple flash tools - Flash.exe and PFLASH.exe. I've also seen several OEM's make their own version of the flash tool.

Just be careful - we see about 3 BIOS flash errors on this board a day and typically 2 of those toasted their EPROM beyond repair with a botched flash, or flashing the incorrect file, etc. etc.....
