Mntsnow 02-02-2000, 02:52 PM Most of the HP's you disable the on-board video in the bios http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Mntsnow drizzle 02-02-2000, 02:54 PM Either that or it'll be diabled once you install another video card. Axel 02-02-2000, 02:57 PM I'm not sure on that particular model - it may require a BIOS change, may require a motherboard jumper change, or, you could just plug in the PCI video card and it may recognize it and abandon the on-board channel - Have you got a system manual for that model? - You can hit the www.hp.com (http://www.hp.com) site and download a copy of one. Just remember - the HP pavillion line took the place of the NEC Packard Bell basement grade system in the market. I wouldn't expect a lot in the way of changes you can make to it, but then HP's are typically a good brand once you get over the proprietary stuff OEM's do to their systems. Richard_Cranium72 02-02-2000, 09:13 PM Which Pavillion do you have. Some like my MOM's and my sis's have PII w/100 mhz fsb. They are really OK. In stark contrast my 6350 with 66mhz fsb is what I call a Pavillaturd. Presently it is locked up. Broke. Daid. Kaput. In dire need of about 60 rounds of 7.62x56mm. grrrrr. oh well, hope you have good luck. DrVette1 Wiz 02-03-2000, 11:55 AM just delete the drivers in windows and turn off and install your new video car,d HPs do it automatically. mike88 02-03-2000, 10:59 PM On my HP u got to disable 2 jumpers to to use a seconday vid card, for my 4530 its the ones labeled virq and vendis, the Hp Mobo that mine uses is an Asus P5S-VM but i don't know what u got in yours, hope this helps SysOpt.com
