I have an Asus P5A with on board audio, board version 1.1. I have the USB enabled in the bios and the drivers loaded, using busmaster 3.40. Device manager says the USB is operating correctly and no conflicts. I plug in a USB Alaris weeCam and Win 98 detects a new device. Then when I go to device driver it shows yellow exclamation for the USB port. No imaging device is shown. I try to change drivers and get the message that the best driver is installed. I try to force under install new hardware and select imaging device and the cd drive for the driver. I select the USB driver and am then asked "what port to use"? Choices are com 1&2 and the LPT.....no USB. Any ideas?

Try booting up in safe mode, then go into your devices and see if there are multiple listings for any devices.delete the multiple
listings and ALL of the listings for your usb device then reboot and see if that works now.

just a thought, scsi devices and controler cards are know to interfere with USB...if you have any, that may be your problem. SOlution would be to update drivers for the scsi card and or controller.
