Sad to hear that ABIT may be closing.

BTW-I am typing this post on a old BX6 Rev2 motherboard. (sniff,sniff) I am a little overdue for a upgrade.:p

Truly a sad day. I always liked Abit boards. This is being typed on a KV8 MAX3. I love the guru and OC on the fly. :(

That news was on Anandtech forums about 1 week back or so. Too bad ABIT did not make an orderly shutdown of their business. Here one day and gone the next. Someone should set up a web site with as many Drivers and BIOS updates that they can find (or currently have) .. some one may need them someday.

I just upgraded my RAM on both of mine too. I really do like this board, it's been almost flawless now for 4 years. I only had to patch the BIOS due to a temp issue, it thought it was overheating when it was nearly room temp. The only other problem was the cheapo North Bridge fan got noisy within a couple months, bought a much nicer fan with copper heat sink for $10 and it's been perfect since. No bad caps issues, no USB 2.0 issues, etc. It also came with a nice big sticker showing all the connectors for the front panel, USB front, 1394, etc. Stuck it on the inside cover so I always have it handy if needed. I wish more would do that. Manuals have a way of getting lost to easily.

I've built and sold more Abit systems than I can count and never had a problem with DOAs or what-have-you. I won't repeat what Leppy already covered. It's gonna be a major pain finding another mfr as user-friendly as Abit was.:(
