A friend of mine got himself a Voodoo3-3000 a few days ago.
Yesterday I got my hads on the computer (K6-III/450 on AX59 Pro 1Mb, 64Mb) and it was a very unpleasant surprise. Game was slow, almost like running in jello. FPS around 15-20 when not looking straight into a wall.
On my machine (K6-2/500 on AX59 Pro 1Mb, 64Mb, Voodoo2 12Mb) I get a smooth playing. No record-braking FPS, but at least around 25-30. We both used the exact same settings in the game.
Setting the AGP aperture to 32Mb in BIOS made it a little better, but still not comfortable.

I'm not very familiar with Voodoo3 so any ideas would be welcome.

I use a K6-3 450 on Gigabyte GA5AX Voodoo 3 3000, 64Mb Ram.
There's not a game i can`t run yet.
Maybe the problem is upto date drivers or disable the pallette snooping in the bios
also make sure it's primary display is AGP & not PCI.
Having said that voodoo 3's are sh*t compared to my old 4Meg ATI and 12Meg Voodoo 2 it's only about 5% better.
TNT2 Ultra's my next move.

As I recall there was a lot of user information about the Voodoo3 working well with AMD K-6(3)s...Check out the forum, there might be some answers there...

Just keeping the thread alive...

Got the FPS up to 30 now in demo1. (800x600) Still not very comfortable playing though...Game is sooo slow when playing.

Shoot guys, I run a K6/2-380 and a TNT2 agp. All games I can find run smoothly, not blindingly fast framerates, but quite comfortable play...
