HELP!!!!

I have a HP DeskJet 612c Printer.

I took out the black ink cartridges and put it back in (it is in properly, I am positive on that). The error lights came on the next time I went to use it. Its "noises" are MUCH louder now, and when the cartridge cradle swings to its rest position, it sounds as if it is hitting the inside wall of the printer. I am not able to print any documents.

If anyone has a solution to this problem, help is *GREATLY* appreciated!!!!

Thank-You.

How old is the printer? You really have to be careful installing the cartridges. I have an HP and it is finicky. I agree you might have broke something off in the printer. You might have to call HP tech support # 208-323-2551 or go to their website.

It sounds like you either forced the cartidge in or didn't force it enough. - any chance a part of the cartidge broke off and fell into the housing?

Why did you take it out? - you should have been able to see if it was empty or not -

Additionally - if the ink is old and you applied something like nail polish remover to clean the little ports on the ink container, you may have thinned the ink enough to cause it to flow out and leak into the housing which can cause problems.
(sounds like I've been there - huh....)

On the other hand, the problem you are having may have nothing to do with you "adjusting" the ink container. - Could just be something else fractured.
