I have been trying to install O/S 2 to my 486 and something is going on that I dont understand.
486DX 2 66
Western digital 1.6 Gig HDD
Win 95 on C:
I created a new partition (D: ) with partition magic of 146 MB and have created a logical drive on D: of 146 MB. When booting with the installation disk in A:, I get to a blue screen that says "partitions too small" saying I need 35 MB of disk space. The fdisk on the OS/2 disk says that my partition is only 2MB. It does not have drive letters indicating the 2 partitions, so I am guessing it is talking about D:.

I haven't played with O/S 2 in a LONG time, but have you tried creating a new install disk series from the cd-rom. There is an application on the cd that will write two fresh install disks. Using the supplied IBM disks, all I could ever get was install errors (no matter what system I tried them with), but after creating a new disk series, I never saw those problems again. Just a thought. A few scenerios might lead to this error:
Are you making sure to format D: with FAT16 instead of FAT32? Warp is only FAT16 and HPFS compatible.
Also, are you planning on using IBM's OS mangement software, as it will require a sperate partition for itself. I believe it needs 35meg of space (sound familiar) for itself, so this maybe the issue. When installing, I always just installed it to a dir on my primary partition (FAT 16). Then using a shutdown command (I'll have to look that one up!), I could switch whether it or Win9x would load on the next boot.
BTW, what version are you installing? I know 4.0 is the current, with a 5.0 server release to corporate customers in the near future. I still have a copy of 3.0 setting on my desk in front of me (I mean complete factory retail box, every manual, every slip of paper IBM packageed with it), and have yet to find a purpose for it.
Warp is a very stable OS, with excellent multi-tasking, but it lacks application support. Though, after reading this post, I might have to dig it out, and try it on my 500 mhz system to see how well it can actually perform!

Whoops! although I was aware of the file system, I did not think of that. How do I format D in FAT16 when C is FAT32? It is version 3, also unopened! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

You might wish to try this small utility that can partition (without data loss) and format drives to either FAT16 or FAT32. I personally haven't tried this utility, but many of my Linux-using friends seem to like it. Good Luck!
