Axel 02-02-2000, 06:49 AM that depends - which is about as detailed as your question is - so we'll need some more details - is it going to be the primary master, master slave, secondary master, or secondary slave? What OS are you planning to run to use the drive? What type of hardware do you have now? Do you have partitioning software such as partition magic to make several logical drives out of the one physical drive? you'll want to make several logical partitions out of the drive regardless of the above - you may even want to put different file systems on the different logical drives depending on what you plan to put on it. Read from you soon - we'll go from there. rock8785 02-02-2000, 03:32 PM I was planning it to be a secondary running with windows 98. what does everything else mean? Axel 02-04-2000, 12:04 AM It appears that you've never done this type of thing before - My best recommendation to you is to take the CPU and the new drive down to your local PC shop and get them to install it for you and to partition the drive for you into 3 to 5 logical drives. It shouldn't cost you more than $35 or so unless they find other problems when they open the system. Depending on how many logical partitions they create for you - you'll see 3 to 5 additional drive letters the next time you open explorer. SysOpt.com
