In firefox, I go into Organize Bookmarks, and put the bookmarks to go in order (A-Z). They go in order.
When I go back to the browser, click on favorites, there not in alphabetical order. How can I make them stay in order?
Thank you,
Chris.

Bookmarks> Organize Bookmarks> View> Sort> select "sort by name" and "A>Z" , and in the left pane right click a folder with several bookmarks and select "sort by name" , usually works.

FF version?
RM's way should work. In FF3, you can also click on Bookmarks and then RIGHT CLICK on the FOLDER ICON you want to sort. Click Sort By Name. If you right click within the folder, the Sort By Name option will not appear.

Thanks a lot. I followed the instructions and now firefox won't even open. How can I change what I did if I can't even open firefox?

I got firefox to work but it doesn't see the cookies for my homepage. I keep having to put in my name and password, even tho the cookies are still there.
What did I do wrong?
What folder could I removed the "read only" on to make it do this?
Thank you,
Chris.

Did system restore and that didn't even fix it. Why not? Don't leave me hanging!

I followed the advice of someone who suggested to change the 'read only" on a folder. Now ff is all screwed up.
Each time I start ff, the cookie I have for my home page is not recognized. I have to put in a pass each time.
I also noticed ff now only has two search options. None are Google. I only have AOL or cuil.
I tried going back in and changing it back, but it doesn't work. I did a system restore but that didn't even work.
I also tried to reinstall ff, but that didn't work. What can I do?
Thank you,
Chris.

First do you have a backup copy of your bookmarks ? At this point it looks like you need to reinstall Firefox and let it create a new profile. As to the original issue of bookmarks not staying as you want select the Unsorted choice after you get into Bookmarks, Orgranize .. that way they will go where ever you want them & stay there

I noticed I only have two search choices. AOL and Cuil. No google.

Don't start a new thread while you have an open issue on the same subject. Merging threads.
You still didn't say which version of FF you are using.
You need to delete your profile folder and allow FF to create another. Uninstalling FF does NOT delete the profile folder.
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\{randomhashname}
You need to delete the folder with the crazy random generated name. You should backup your bookmarks.html or places.sqlite file first. You'll have to reinstall your addons too.

I backed up my bookmarks. It's a .json file.

I exported it. I had to restart the computer since "ff was still running." After I restarted, it keeps telling me I can't open ff since it's running. Task manager says it's not.
Now what?

Since you have a .json file, that means you have FF3. Next time, just tell us. It does make a difference.
Delete the profile folder like I said. Uninstall FF3 with Revo and then reinstall FF3.

I went into the recycle bin and restored the file that was preventing me from starting ff.
I will use the program and remove and reinstall.

I used that program. Pretty cool! After completly removing ff, then installing, I still get the same message that ff is still running.

When you uninstalled, I hope you removed the old registry entries as well.
I'm guessing that you're installing FF 3.0.5, since that's the latest release.

If you don't see anything in Task Manager, try running Process Explorer (link is in AV/Antispy). FF might be tied to a svchost instance.

I went back and deleted everything. Now it works fine. I really like the remove program. It's a good one!
Thank you for the help. Back to normal.

Glad to hear you fixed it.
We have a lot of good stuff in the Tech Tools sticky, so you might want to browse through it.

One of my radio stations I listen to, now doesn't work. In ie it does. I have the plug in.

Specify which addons you are using. If you are running adblock, try disabling it for that radio site.

add block plus, ABP helper, flashblock (have it disabled), remove it permanently.

When I click on listen live, the window pops up, just no player playing.

I don't know which radio site you are talking about, but did you disable adblock on that site or not?

Yes, disabled adblock. Seems like the player is not loading. The station is KJR 950. In ie, when the player pops up, at the bottom you can see stuff like, Play, Next, Volume,.... In firefox, it's blank at the bottom. Even tho I have all the player plug-ins, seems like it's not loading the player.

Here is the difference in ie and firefox.
Notice how the player is missing at the bottom of the player in Firefox.

Looks like they want you to use IETab.
