Hello group, this is my first post and I appreciate any answers I get. I just put together a new amd athalon system with a Biostar motherboard, my problem is when it starts up in the bios it says CMOS battery failed. I replaced this battery with a fresh one and booted it back up just to get the same message. I was wondering if there is a way to fix this problem or is it just a bad mother board? Also wandering what it mainly effects should I decide not to worry about it. Is the date and time pretty much the only thing or is there alot more? I can live without the date and time, but if it's going to cause my system to go on the fritz I guess i'm going to have to bite the bullet and tear this system back down. Thanks in advance.

to save anyone the trouble of posting a response, i found the answer to my problem. it was a jumper setting that i had positioned in the wrong place when i was putting my computer together, should have known better. thanks anyway
