Well, I got a new motherboard (Epox Dual BX) and hooked it all up and didn't get any power. I double checked my connections and even tried another power supply. Does this mean my new board is DOA? The board that was in there before worked fine.

Any suggestions?

is it "AT" or "ATX"power supply? AT has a two piece plug, to install correctly the plugs need to have the black wires next to each other. Also check the connection of the power switch to MB,

It also may be a BIOS problem (I had such one some days) which can be solved if you reset the BIOS. It goes strictly in Switch OFF position (unplug the AC connector!) and there is a 3-pin reset jumper or switch ner the BIOS chip signed as "Normal" at one side and RST at the other. Just remove the jumper from Normal, and set it to RST for 1-2 seconds. Then return it to "Normal" again and now, you can switch it On. If works, you should enter BIOS and set the required parameters (refer manual of mobo) if not, we will try to help but more info needed .
Good luck...

It's an ATX (asI think almost all BX motherboards are) and I think I tried the bios reset...maybe i didn tdo it long enough. Will try to call Epox later today....Don't really want to call the place I got it from unless I have to return it because they don't speak english very well, and that can sometimes frusterate me. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

I just went through a similar situation. The board was DOA and took my 128 MB RAM with it!
