Can't load Norton Anti-Virus...

I have reformatted and now am rebuilding my system. I have shared e-mail, etc. with SissyPrissy who posted here and was infected with several viruses. I know I was infected because a friend just told me that an e-mail I sent before the crash had a virus in it....after formatting, could I still have a virus?

I am trying to load my Norton Anti-Virus so I can check things out and get my system protected and it won't load. It WILL load and install any other program on cd.

What now???

Yes you could still have one, welsh wizzard had one thru several f-disks and formats.
Anyway, if you do think you have one, you don't want to install Norton, thats the first warning it will give you when you do install it. You need to use the Anti-virus start disk (rescue disk) that came with the program.

Did you try using the Emergency Floopies to check your system first??? If you don't have them I can make you a set and send them to you. let me know...OK

I don't think I ever made backups when I installed it, it was a long time ago and I didn't know nearly as much about computers as I do now(which still ain't much, lol)and I don't actually have the Norton Anti-virus program....I have one cd, which was a freebie from the guy who built my computer....the cd says on the front of it SUPER PACKAGE and then down below it says Norton AntiVirus Device Drivers....but i know this is what I loaded nav with, cuz it's the only thing I have with NAV on it.

I don't know if the floppies would do me any good and don't remember what version it is, lol! I am just a font of information, aint I?

I went online and went to the McAffee online scan, and it said i was fine and I downloaded a 30 day trial of Pc-cillin6 and it says I am fine also, I ran all the floppies that I had at sissyprissy's house and they are all clean too.

So I am going to assume I clean and if I still cant get it to load then will just go out and buy a new one, since this one was free I am not really out anything.
