Can anyone recommend some software (open source, ideally) that will broadcast audio over my home network? I'm not looking for a plugin for a specific piece of software and I am aware of things like VLC, but I'd just like to broadcast whatever sound my PC is producing, not the sound from a specific program/source. My main aim is to be able to broadcast sound from BBC iPlayer to my PDA (a Palm TX), which has software capable of receiving audio streams in most major formats.
