I have a PC Chips motherboard model 767v with onboard sound and video with windows 95 c installed on it. This motherboard was a replacement for another PC Chips motherboard that went out, so this was not a fresh install of 95. But I can't get windows to detect the sound card. The sound card is enabled in the bios and when I replaced the hard drive with a hard drive with a fresh install of win98 the sound card plug and plays just fine so I know the sound works. The pci modem I have is detected and installs just fine as well as the video. What could this be? Anyone have any clues?
I'm running a cel 300, 64 mb etc..
Thanks

boot in safe mode remove all references to the sound card. Then when you reboot it may detect the sound card. If it doesnt;
install it manually using the add new hardware icon in control panel.
I've had problems with plug an pray and that board but the devices seem to always install manually.

I tried all of that previous to posting, I even removed all references in the registry. Add new hardware does not find anything. I wish I could install this manually. It acts like the sound is dead but it can't be if it installs under 98. Any other suggestions?
Thanks

I got it working. I removed the plug and play BIOS from the system devices and rebooted. Then ran add new hardware and re-installed all motherboard resources and it popped up. Thanks for the help!
