My friend is running an AOpen AX6BC with a Celeron 300 with PC-100 SDRAM. He wanted to overclock it, and tried 133mhz fsb by 3 or 4 or something like that, i can't remember. He didn't touch the CPU voltage. Anyway, it now won't boot. He turns it on and i can hear the powerpack fan and hdd startup but there's no beeping or video.
Has he stuffed his computer? Has he fried something? or needs to replace something?

Thanks for your help.

Did he bring the bus speed back down. If he was going 133 by 4, it is not shocking that he could not post. The RAM could cause him not to post. Bring it back down to normal, it should boot normally.

Check his mother board manual, I don't know about aopen but abit boards need to have a jumper changed to return the bios to default settings before they will restart. Worth a look.

Like you would have been able to run a 300A at 600mhz, anyway.

Might not be the over-clocking effort at all - there is the smallest chance he dis-lodged an IDE cable while in the case, or, the remotest little chance he static-zapped a chip or two.

He didn't static zap anything and all the cables are fine, I checked that. He doesn't have a manual so I'll have to find a list of jumper settings for his board online so I can try and reset his bios.

Or just pull the mobo battery and leave it out for awhile, several minutes. Someone her can calculate the discharge rate of an AX6BC http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif
