I'm trying to access a shared disk on my server, and I get the message:

"Y:\ is not accessible".

"The i/o operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request."

This networking setup has worked for some time, it's suddenly stopped behaving.

I can network the other way, from the server to a share on the workstation.

Any ideas?

The shared volume is available locally on the server? If so, I would suspect a TCP problem between the the server and client. Has a firewall or anti-malware app been installed recently on either node?

Try disconnecting from the share and re-mapping.

Problem goes away with a reboot. No idea what was the problem- I'd be interested if anyone has any theories.

Reboot of which? It would be nice if you would reply to suggestions and questions.
