weird ethernet card issue

just bought a netgear gigabit pci adapter

for some reason its not seeing any internet connections. when i go into network connections, i see it flashing between enabled and unplugged or identifying and unplugged. i checked it a few times to make sure nothing is loose but its not helping

any suggestions?

nevermind...

i fixed it by going into my settings and lowering the nic speed to 10mbps
