I've got an FIC VA-503+ Super 7 m/b with 100mhz FSB, and running a K6-2 350. What would be the difference between the K-2 500 and the K-3 450, as far as gaming/graphics, speed. I believe my mb supports both (white sticker) is the K-3 really that much better than a 500 mhz K-2? Prices about the same (175.00 or so). Or should I just overclock and save up for a 1 Ghz Athlon after Xmas?
Any suggestions?

Well the K6-2 and K6-3 are OK when you often use 3DNOW optimized Games! IŽd buy myself a Celery or a P3! But if you want a real gaming machine, than you must have an Athlon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd definitely go with the K6-3 simply because of it's 256K L2 cache... How much did you say are the chips?? $175?? Dude that's way too much.. Go to this site.. www.pricewatch.com (http://www.pricewatch.com) and you'll find a much cheaper chips.. *pointers* you can o/c your K6-3 450mhz to 500 but you can't make your K6-2 run with an L2 cache..... /forum/wink.gif
Goodluck, hope this help on your decision on buying yourself a chipe..
