I built this pentium dual core 3.0 and put it into a shuttle case. The system has 2 gigs memory, Maxtor 500 gig HD, Roswill 600W psu, and a Nvidia 8400 GS graphics card. works perfect for internet browsing, emailing etc...I load up City of heroes/ City of villains and all is fine. however after 5-10 minutes my keyboard and mouse no longer function. Game continues but I can't control anything in the meantime. I deleted 7 reloaded the game. I reloaded the graphics drivers and no improvement. the mobo is a ECS 671T-M V 1.0. Drives me up the wall knowing that the pc works well for everything other then gaming. Even after rebooting and logging into the game. The usual few minutes later and keyboard and mouse die again plagues this system. Any clues to what it might be? I have the mobo driver disk but I have not yet reloaded that in. I have tried using 2 different types of keyboards and mouses and the same thing happens. Any suggestions out there for this pc? Thanks in advance.

we have same motherboard, and we have same problem :).
before when im using my ps2 mouse after 10-30 min my mouse is not functioning, sometimes my keyboard too... i thought my mouse is responsible for that, because my mouse is too old... when i replace my mouse into usb type, i never encounter that problem, until today i never encounter that problem. maybe the problem is in the ps2 socket.

You guys use ECS boards and wonder why you have problems? Nothing personal, but get real - that's not exactly quality stuff. ;)

Hey lookie here now.....when I bought my PD 3.0 I only wanted to spend about $100.00 for the mobo. The ECS version I bought was around $80.00. I have a Nvidia 8400 GS card that works fine. City of Heroes/Villains is very forgiving for people that don't have advanced hardware. Granted I have a half a dozen other pc's that slam the performance on this system. But my ECS system isn't exactly bottom of the barrel either for decent performance. Heck my single Athlon 35+ system with a 6800GT AGP system kicks **** on COH/COV and thats at least a year or two older. So I don't really need a ASUS top of the line mobo either for my purposes. Tho I do have a few ASUS boards for my Q6600 systems. I am going to try using a wireless mouse/keyboard via USB port to see if that works any better.

You've ruled out virtually everything but the motherboard, unless there's a software glitch somewhere OR unless the gradual heat buildup from your gaming is overtaxing your PSU.
I don't know that Asus is the best out there; Abit and Gigabyte make great boards and Biostar is pretty good for the money as well - same price range as ECS and better QC to boot. To each his own, though. :)

I had a client that had the same problem with that board, its your PS2 slot, use usb unless you want to rma the board, thats what I had to do for my client. Just as Lgbpop stated you have ruled out every thing else, which leaves your mobo and I can allmost garuntee that you need to rma it.
