power switch

i have a full tower (old style with turbo button)with an a-trend 6510 pII motherboard,the problem is when i hit the power button to turn it on ,it wont start unless i wait 2 or 3 seconds and then hit the reset switch.i sure hope someone can help,i want to sell it but i can't like this.thanks in advance...ashford

The board you are using is it both AT and ATX? The board would most likly be happier if you had it in a tower with a ATX power supply. Good luck Butchk

Any chance that you have the soft-power-on wires connected to the mobo backwards??

Check to make sure that the wires from the power-on switch are connected correctly to the motherboard, and see if reversing them from what they are now corrects your problem.
