no export as..... in audacity

I've used audacity several times. When I want to export a file, I go to "file" and there is Exprot as.... it has WAV., MP3, etc.... I got done with a file and want to export it, but the choises are not there. What is going on?
How can I get the choices to show up?

Which version are you running? Did you try reinstalling audacity?

You could download the portable version and see if that works. If the portable works, then you know it's something messed up in your local install.

I was using the new, 1.3. I opened the file in 1.2.6 and I had the "export as WAV."

I saved it, it said something about when a file is saved in WAV, it usually has a .WAV extension. If I save it, some programs might not be able to recognize it.

Sure enough, nothing recognizes it.

The file I'm working with is a WAV. File.

I checked the properties of the audacity saved file. It lists, Type of File as an "08 File".

Never saw any messages like that before. Did you download the portable version or did you install 1.2.6 over 1.3.5?

Maybe your original file is funky. Did you test out other .WAV files?
