I want to install a
IBM deskstar 25GP 20,3GB IDE, the mainboard is AB-SM5, BIOS is upgrated. when booting up it cannot recognize the harddrive. what can I do to solve this ?

I bought a new ibm harddrive, and had to disable udma66 for it to work properly, although my system recognized it, it messed up my windows bus master drivers. You might could load it in a friends system, and disable it, and then put it back in yours...the utility is free from ibm's website.. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Did you set the jumper on the HD to Master? If so remove it and put it where the manual indicates, probably s, single or sideways for none. Just a thought. hope this helps. Take me to your leader.
