http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg303/mmmmmjm/971114.jpg
Its a FME connector
The crimp tool is £25.00 ($50.00) + 17.5% VAT ..... So I ain't buying one just to put one plug on ...... Question is..... Do I stand a cat in hells chance of attaching this to the wire via "Other Means" ?
Ok ..... Lets have some suggestions on how I might do this .......
I gots toolz ...... Even have ya basic spade crimper (& a Hammer & chisel ;) )

I'm wondering if to just chop the other plug off & use screw on "F" plugs & a double female instead ....... "Freakin' Cellular Stupidity" ...... I wonder if doing that will send the SWR all to cock ? ......... I wish I was half as cleaver as I seem to think I am :(
On one end there's this

& on the other

Only the base comes sans plug, for easier cable routing ..........
I dunno if it will even work to be honest ...... This is all a wee bit "Heath Robinson" & a prevailing wind theory
Oh I got this fer good measure ...... I'm gonna enjoy a usin' this on me car roof ..............

Umm well I've done this one ...... Finished it bout a hour ago ...... All went fine surprisingly....... Seems to work too ...... Won't really know fer sure till I go somewhere where the GSM coverage is patchy...... Which is a pretty hard ask as we have 95+% coverage here.
You might ask why I bothered at all ....... I did to see if I could ....... & while doing so I learned.... Thus I may now exclaim "I can"!!! "And" "It Works"!!! ..... God I'm brill..... & just a little bit loopy ;)
