Installed & updated SuperAntiSpyware and gave it a test run
It found lots of cookies, which was expected. It also found quite a few Temp Inet Files\Content that I cannot verify.
I have been used to viewing the C:......\Temporary Internet files\Content for a long time, sometimes even grabbing a file I thought I had lost.
SuperAntiSpyware indicates there are files in this folder to delete, or ok...whichever I choose.
Such as:
C:\Documents and Settings\Rob\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\G1URKTEZ\win_xp_sp2_ie_6[1].swf
These are called by Super as "Trace.Known Threat Sources"
There must be 30 + files there...
Trouble is, there is no folder called "Content".
I did a machine search for Content*.* and it is not there...Hidden files are set to be allowed/shown
Comments please...
PS, I use both IE 6.0 and Firefox 3.0.1

It should be there, even if you delete it , Windows will recreate it. Even if these are false positives , temp internet files are not needed, they can contain malware, though usually they are just for reloading the page quicker the next time you visit. Its safe to delete.
It would be easier to use CCleaner to clean the temp cr*p out first , before scanning. Saves time and all those temps are useless in most cases. Any cookies you want to save can be managed as well.
IE6 is not secure, you should upgrade to IE7 . Which makes me think you haven't updated to SP3 yet, you should.

Thanks for the reply...
No, I have SP3 here, but I have not authorized its setup....yet.
I read where some were having problems with SP3 several months ago...not long after it was put out for the public. I well remember my problems with SP4 in Win2k...and have the attitude "if it works...leave the stinking thing alone"!!!
The file folder Content, is not where it normally is, and a search does not find a folder by that name..

What's your concern here? the malware or the fact that you don't have a content folder?
I don't have a content folder in my temp internet files either. It depends on the sites that you go to. It will get recreated if need be, but it's not a major issue.
.swf files are shockwave flash, and they can host malware. that's probably why it got flagged.

The Content folder is always present and always hidden. The way to empty it is the standard way - in Internet Options.

Thanks, and no problem.. I know I can delete the files...just "my way" has been for years to go scroll through the contents, and maybe grab a file or two. I have collected quite a few midi's that way...and sorta wanted to continue doing it my way...but, I suppose if I need XP as my OS, I will have to deal with Billy Gates ways...huh!

It is a hidden file. Located at
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5
Easy way to get to the folders, is to open Disk Cleanup, highlight the Temperary internet files entry,
Click the view files Button.
Doulbe clcik a folder, answer the question and see wwhat is in the folder.
Yep all kinds of folders in there to look through if you want.

Thanks Train... I also found that I could view them by right clicking Temporary Internet Files and use Explore.
I also tried to create the folder Content.IE5 as a subfolder of the Temp Inet Files, and could not...system said the folder already exists!! LOL
Oh well, I have a lot to unlearn as well as learn...

Try to use Windows Explorer instead of Powerdesk. Copy and paste C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5 into the address bar. If that doesn't work, add the Content.IE5 at the end by typing it in instead.
Its seems the file can stay hidden unless your using multiple users accounts on the system. You could try using a higher hierarchical account to view the file, such as Administrator in safe mode.

Something else has just been discovered.
Windows XP will not open wordpad .doc files from my archives.
Error: "Can not load word for Windows 6.0 files"
I have hundreds of genealogy related notes done in wordpad.doc.
What is needed to open these documents?..
Tnx, Rob

Have you tried opening them directly from Wordpad? Your default word processing application may be Works. If no joy, you have a few options:

Yes, I did try wordpad directly...same thing.
It will open wordpad saved as rtf.
I CAN...(but don't want to)...open the doc type with viewer pane..copy and paste back to wordpad and resave as rtf.
Hoped there would be a patch etc.
Thanks Bill... I will see what MS has to offer..

I vote for Open Office as well.
It is from Sun Microsystems and is free. You can't beat that.
It is slightly different than Office or Works, but it reads and writes all of the Office file formats.
I included it on my BartPE boot CD so I can review client files when doing data recovery.

Interesting...
I will get that one.
I do have a copy of AbiWord. It is a decent(?) word processor (I think) I could never seem to figure out the many templates etc., and usually just used wordpad instead. It is not installed on this new hard drive
Thanks..
