What a day. First I get my new case..; ( Antec nine Hundred ) and while setting it up, I accidently bent one of the pins ( the middle one ) and found i not longer could connect the sata cable. I tried bending it back, but i could only get it close and the connector just won't click or hold on.

For the life of me, I don't understand why they make these drives with such flimsy pins for connectors. They are copper i suppose, very small, and flimsy, so not much room for any errors conncecting or disconnecting, where I had issues. I am normally pretty darn careful, but now I suppose i have a useless drive.

Not being too knowledgeable about these drives, I am confused as to what the longer connector is. Can someone enlighten me? Can i hook some other cable up to this and use it, or retrieve my data?

I was going to get another Sata drive this coming month anyway, and i guess i surely have to now. Hope this one i have left holds up till then.  ;)

Check out this install guide. It shows the cables and explains everything.

Thks Sterling. If i was in a better space when this happened i might have found that at some time. I will surely save this and read over more of the info when i get another drive.. very useful info. ( I did take the time and to read most of it already )

TBH, i was kind of rushed and excited when i was rearranging and setting things up in my new case. Yeah., the fist time before ,when i hooked it up i had no issues. Just plugged the cables in to unit and board and booted up. LOL
