I have been tweaking with my network card. I need someone who has a network card and a full version of sandra. If you do would you mind benchmarking your network. Then add this setting in system.ini. (run / sysedit / system.ini / look for [386Enh] / add this line "irq#=4096" / restart pc / benchmark / what are the times? Use # where your NIC card is your Irq location. Thanks I have seen a 100% increase in my down load times with cable @home 350kbs to over 700kbs.

I wish I could perform the network card test for you, but I can tell you that the setting does work. It creates a memory buffer region for that IRQ to work with. It's most benificial with nics and hardware modems. I use the following setting with my USR v.90 for the best throughput:
Com2Irq3Buffer=8192
If the device isn't on a com port, that portion is not needed, just he IRQ number. As for me, I saw a rate increase of nearly 20% just on my dial-up line.

I have just tried it and well no luck. It got slower. now# is my irq number for my nic correct? such as irq03=4096 ,right?
I went to netscape.net and to download their browser tested three times the best was without the added line.
Also the bandwidth speed test (http://computingcentral.msn.com/topics/bandwidth/speedtest50.asp) was slower. Refreshed three times also. But it is
Friday night and it's cold so I am sure it is very busy.

Does the "I" in "irq" have to be capitalized? Try "Irq3=4096". http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
