TweakUI has an icon fixing option. That should work. If you haven't DL'ed it already it is at: http://www.winmag.com/win98/software.htm

this might help. I'm not fersure. so be careful. if you can't use the file now. it dosen't matter. you might want to go to start,find,file/folders. type in my document and delete it. and reboot the system and see. it should reload it for you. or use the program as stated before.

One word of caution about Tweakui - if you download that and use it to repair folders, I recommend that after the repair is complete, un-install Tweakui.

I recently learned the hard way that Tweakui has several bugs most of which negatively impact your registry and control panel applets. AOL has an extensive list on their web site of TweakUI bugs with a few fixes and work-arounds.

Make informed use with caution.

Actually if you right click on your My Documents icon on your desktop and hit properties, it should tell you which folder is points to. Just make sure that it points to an existing folder, and that the folder it points to contains whatever stuff you have. If not then you can either edit the destination folder or rename your existing folder to the one your icon points to.

PerryBoy is correct. If you just want to restore the folder. If you want to remove it then do what Dave said.
C:\My Documents should be the default place for the folder.
