I am having problems with IE 7 freezing several times daily. When I open task manager I see two instances of the same application running. One will be marked "not responding". I think the problem may be with IE 7 add-ins.
When I look at add-ins that run without permission I see many multiples of the same add-in running. Is it safe to delete all but one version of each add-in? Are all these multiples of the same add-in necessary?
Secondly I have "Free Threaded XML DOM Document 3.0" and "6.0" running simultaneously. Do I need both 3.0 and 6.0? Can I delete 3.0 and keep 6.0 which I assume is a later version?

Remove dupes and remove anything you don't recognize - especially unnamed ones. Leave both DOMs.

I know this doesn't answer your question; but have you thought of trying the IE7 based TheWorld browser? Same functionality with many more tools. :t

I have, and I use it. But then again, I'm a bit of a software junkie. :t

Will it stream audio and video files? The inability to do this is my biggest complaint about Firefox.

If IE7 does, then it should be able to. :t

I must have misunderstood you. I thought you said you used it.

You didn't misunderstand me; I do use it. I just don't stream audio or video. I have a media pc that I use for music; and I'm not really interested in video that much. But in any case, I don't stream audio or video. You do. What do you do; watch TV shows or something? :t

What happens when you disable the add-ons?
