partition magic problems

here is the problem: I have a 17.2 gig hard drive and i want to partition it into two partitions,using partition magic 5 pro.but every time I try it gives me an error that windows and dos memory do not match.also when I formatted last week i did not partition the drive in two like I usually do with the max blast disk. any way I can fix this short of reformatting? as I have a lot of software on this baby and it takes about a day and a half to install everything.thanks also error # is 627.

I'm not quite too sure what your error is hydraulic, but my advise (if you haven't already tryed it) is to use the boots disks PM5 makes, and see if you still get the error.

When you used the max blast to install your drive, did you install ez-bios? (a program thaat lets you use large drives when your bios does not suport them)

this ez-bios is just such a program(drive overlay) and I find that partition magic gives errors and is generally useless when that ez-bios is installed.

Well, If you installed it once it will be there until you remove it with the maxblast proggie.Formatting will not do it and neither will fdisk.

well people thanks for the help,and jonathankeeping it seems that you were right regarding ez-bios. don't ask me how but it got installed the last time I formatted, anyhow I uninstalled it and it still did'nt help so I ended up formatting again !.anyhow to make a long story short I made sure ez-bios was not installed and that cured it.
