is there any way to reset the password?

i called fios but they said they cant help me

i logged into the IP address but i dont see anything to change the password there

i just noticed when i log into the IP using the default info... i logged into someone elses router which is the same IP as mine... how do i fix this and how can i reset my router password?

If its an Actiontec router then there should be a reset button on the back, press and hold for 30 sec. , then wait for 30 sec. for the router to reboot. Log back on to the router using the default username "admin" and default password "password" or "password1" , leaving out the quotes.

You can't simply keep a router and use it for other uses. The cable company needs to register the MAC address in their system before the router will be usable to you, that is why the IP address is assigned to some other router.

I have no clue why you paid $200 for a router. Comcast wanted to charge me $10 per month 5 years ago for a rental router. I bought one for $70 and saved all that extra money (60*$10=$600-$70=$530 savings).
