A ways back i posted here about when I installed my Sata drive that the icon ( OS program ) for 'safely remove hardware' ws just staying in my lower startup and that is ws just becasue it is a 'plug and play drive. Still, it always bothered me that i could not remove this or find out how.
Just now after downloading some new trial 'update system sriver' program, it found six things supposely not updated. I then did a manual search in the control panel and ran all the ones it found, which amzingly, NONE wer out of date,or at least by that process.
Then it dawned on me to find my motherboard maker ( Nvidia ), went to thier site and found my mobo updates, which oddly i had nver done before after first installing this new system. It found five things i needed to update, among them the Raid Sata Adapter, i think , and a couple more having to do with a Sata drive. I DL'ed all, and then when it finished and rebooted, My Sata drive was not showing.
I then went into the 'Add New HW" in control panel and ran that and clicked on the HD which thier it ws showing up, and then it is now there all OK. I then look at my startup right hand bar and 'no icon. at long last.
Alot to write for such a small thing(s), but now I know everything is my build is updated and is definitely runnng top notch. Just makes me happy as a lark ;) :t LOL
