Madd printer problems - please HELP

I tried the suggestion out, but I didn't have any success.

I can't print anything - I've tried different drivers, cables, settings, and even printers. I have been told to change the parallel port settings in BIOS to SPP, and enable the printer port. I did this but it still doesn't work.

My printer actually prints three pages all of which have one line that is unreadable at the top of the page. I'm not getting any error messages.

I have an Okidata OL410e, PIII 550, 128 RAM, running Windows 98SE. I'm not very familiar with technical computer settings - but I can usually figure it out.

I would really appreciate any help I could get.
