Someone just asked me what was the difference between the Pentium Dual Core, Core Duo, and Core2 Duo.

I mostly can explain the Core2 Duo, since it is a fairly newer chip, but I could not give him a straight answer between the Pentium Dual Core and the Core Duo.

From what I remember, Intel revived the Pentium line last year, but how is it different from the Core Duo?

So basically my question is, what is the difference between the Pentium Dual Core and Core Duo?

I have seen laptops with Core Duo inside, and Pentium Dual Core inside, at the same price range.

How specific do you need to be? Core Duos are much faster per clock than Pentium Ds. They are based on completely different architectures.

If you're trying to decide between a Core Duo or a Pentium D, get the core duo.
