FYI for those interested. We have put a Microstar mainboard into my Athlon 500 system and, although I have not picked up the machine, it is supposedly working well. We tried various combinations of PSU/RAM combinations and a new K7M mainboard and were not successful with any of them. At the same time, I had an identical K7M system, except for the modem, built for a family member and that is working fine. Go figure! Anyway, I thought someone might benefit from this update in their efforts to build a great Athlon system.
