chaos on desktop

after working in save mode my desktop is looking chaotic in w2k. . how can i fix the settings/icons? i already asked this earlier with no reply. thanks a lot

when booting to safemode it drops resolution to 640x480. that will mess up your icons.

Right click anywhere on the blank desktop, then select to auto arrange the icons. Log out and it will save the setting.

Icon Restore works the same as MidKnyte's recommendation. The web page is a bit more descriptive.

we will see if you are right. the icons will no be messed up again but at the wrong posision! am i right?

Yes, but only if you log into SAFE MODE.

Use one of the tools we recommended. I do. Midknyte does. They work for us.

Both programs seem to work in the same way. Desktop Restore works for me, but I won't be offended if you use something else.

For Desktop Restore, you'd have to save the desktop layout first. if the icons get messed up, you simply restore the layout.

of course i am using save/restore desktop saving layout. and its working. i am relieved.
