SBLIVE gameort not recognized or erratic

I have a SBLIVE Value sound card. A Interact v3 racing wheel which worked for several months until recently. The port will not recognize the device. The message says "device not connected" I believe it's the drivers but I'm not sure. The wheel is fine no problem. I downloaded (upgraded), Live Ware from the Creative Labs site and since using updated drivers I have had a problem. I posted this on Gaming and found two more individuals with the same sound card and problem. I cannot get an answer from Creative after 4 emails (good support). A tech told me to uninstall and reinstall but I'm a little skeptical.

Can anyone help......or reassure me of no problems reinstalling???????

I had a similar problem.

Go to system-device settings and remove the 'Creative Gameport Joystick' which is under 'Creative Miscellaneous Devices'. Now reboot the computer and hopefully (fingers crossed http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif ) Windows will reinstall the Joystick automatically at start up.

If this doesn't work maybe try a reinstall of Direct X.....I'm not sure if this has any relevance.
