I'm in need of some help regarding my system's registry. I just ditched my old modem for the cable modem service. But I have been getting slow dl speeds. The cable techs ran some tests and deduced that there was something wrong with the registry, and I was told I had to reformat to get my speeds up. When I used the old dial-up I used a program called ispeed to tweak the modem. According to the cable co. techs., that is the main culprit. I know that ispeed just changes the registry settings, so is anyone familiar with this problem? I really don't want to reformat the hard drive, especially now that I have less and less time to do that. Could I just edit the proper registry settings?

I also came across a program called Norton Ghost which allows you to reinstall windows cleanly without having to reformat.(I think ???) Has anyone ever used this program before and would it solve my problem.

Thanks for your time,
Mike
