I have the Abit BP6 and want to upgrade to dual CPU. My question is will all Win95\98 only games will work on Win 2000 like X-Wing Alliance. It can't run on NT. I don't have the option of a Dual boot system be cause my hard drive is almost full.

From what I could tell, no. Some might, but some of the word processors, spread sheets, etc., that had documents made in 2000 don't read well or at all in 98/95. So I would assume that they more likely won't.

From what I understand, Windows 2000 is somewhere in the area of 650 MB in size after installation. 98 is about 120 MB in size (all depending on what's installed of course). However, I'm told it's much quicker than 98 is. I'm going to a Windows 2000 class a week from Wednesday so I'll know more about it then.

whoever said that win2k is faster than win98 has NO idea what they are talking about. i have both (win2k beta 3 and win98 ... getting the official win2k pre-release next week) and to think that i thought win98 was slow, which it is, win2k is even slower. and the setup process takes quite a while as well. and it has nothing to do with my machine either, i'm running at 500MHz and my system screams. as for whether or not your games will work on it i can't say. i've been primarily testing the security (ha ha ha!! yeah, right. if you want security go with Linux) as well as stability (decent ... better than other MS operating systems so far) but just so you know, if your games aren't working on WIN NT then they probably won't work on win2k because it is actually NT5.
best of luck!
