Just a silly question for you all
I have a SupraMAX 56k PCI Voice modem and would like to set it up as a speakerphone but I do not have the first clue where to start. Do I need software other than the modem drivers to use speakerphone, do I need to connect it to my souncard somehow or just plug in the mic to the sound card. Please help or submit any links that will help me.
Thanks in Advance

Hi. I am experiencing modem woes but of a different nature. To answer your question, a voice modem often comes with a software program like Quicklinks, Total Fax, etc. Some modems (I assume from your experience) come with only a hardware (modem) driver. Many communication titles are available in office supply stores like Staples, and of course on the Net. Check out your own modem's Website. Check out Smith Micro Software's website for the Quicklink Message Center which I happen to use to answer my office phone. It came with my Creative Modem Blaster voice/fax/data.

Good luck!

Lets get a little more simple here,(I'm good at that), get Yahoo Messenger, it's free, and a 8.99 mic from Wal-Mart/K-Mart/Office Somewhere, and you're in business. Granted it wont be as clear as a high dollar setup but at least it's almost free.. DrVette

When I was having trouble with my computer and stayed on the phone with Tech support or anyone else I could get help from, I just bit the bullet and when down to, I hate to admit it, Radio Shack and purchased a 'Speakerphone" This way whether the computer was on, off, together or in peices, I had constant hands on communictions with whoever
was instructing me how to repair my computer.
Wouldn't trade for the world. Don't need it often , but when you do, it's well worth the
$24.95.

There should have been a cd or floppy with that modem. Mine came with both.

If that's the Diamond Supra Express isp (internal with speakerphone) modem, Diamond's site will have it.
