Fellow computer dudes & dudettes:

I have a Celeron 343MHz (333MHz slightly oc'd by a flash upgrade to the Bios), Intel 440BX chipset, Win98se. I have a Visioneer Scanner in one USB port, a Boca Research Modem in the 2nd USB port. My external Boca with it's very small footprint sits on top of my computer case next to my monitor. The USB Modem is powered through the USB cable. Since I installed the Boca 2 weeks ago, it has powered down (lost power) approximately 5 times and a reboot is required to power it back up. There is a "power on" LED on the front of the modem for me to monitor such things as power and connection to my server. Funny thing is after the modem powers off, the little telephone connection icon in the systray still shows an active connection, but I cannot use email or access the Net. My USB scanner has never powered down on its own, but it has a AC adapter. Why does the USB Boca power down?

Thank you for your ideas.
