Having a REALLY slow day at the office so I'm spending too much time on forums...


User posts a question (on another site) about getting a BSOD...He posts in the General Business forum...

I chime in and ask-> "Which Operating Sytem so we can move it to the correct forum?"

He replies back with-> "what do you mean by operating system???"

My Reply-> "Do you still have the original box the pc came in?" Didn't actually say that - gave him a few examples like WINDOWS XP is an OS...

His Reply-> "Do you mean like XP Home?"

I left and came here to rant....../end of rant

I turned on my pc (even though I can't see a darn thing without a monitor.) I pressed the power button to shut it down.

I tried to turn it on and now the LEDs don't come on...and the cd tray won't pop out....PLEASE HELP

Hour later.

If you think thats bad, 3 weeks ago i went to a guy's machine that wasn't getting connected to the network.

He told me the cable was plugged in.

When I went to his machine I found out he wasn't lying... He had jammed a USB cable into his Ethernet port.

I'm not sure, but I think that is the same guy I was Joking with a one day... I handed him the clear disk that comes in a new pack of CD's. I told him that it was a special fix-all disc, the guy took me serious and took it then left.

My Dad told me his printer wasn't working at the shop. He took it from home and connected it to his laptop.

I toiled with it for hours. Reinstalling driver etc.

Then I thought I will go to the computer store and get a paralell cable and end this. When I was trying to put the new cable in, I realised that he had forced the USB one in the wrong way around :rolleyes:

I didn't even think that was possible. I mean it's keyed so it can only go in one way, how the heck did he do it?

It was on the printer side. So it was the square side of the cable. I'm just glad he never broke anything and the store took the parallel cable back!
