COMPUTER REBOOTING WILL NOT STOP

Computer with a SOYO motherboard K7VM and an AMD Athlon XP 2600 CPU, 512 MB of Ram, 80 Gig Hard Drive with Windows XP Pro, Service Pack 2.

Decided to do a complete safe repair, not with the repair console, but the following one after hitting “Enter” and going thru the motions. The reason for the repair was that Internet Explorer 6.0 would not open any window after selecting it to do it.

The safe repair went well until the initial rebooting after finished the windows installation. It will keep rebooting and never stops.
I tried Safe mode, and it will go thru the motions loading everything, until it says “Press escape to stop loading a237bus.sys and starts rebooting again.

Any assistance in trying to resolve this riddle would be really appreciated

Sounds like a virus or spyware to me.

A clean install with a quick format will be your best bet now to fix it. Reinstall all of the Windows Updates and install anti virus and anti spyware programs right away to protect the system.

I use Counterspy and Adware Away.

You are probably rigth about the virus, but I do not want to format and install a new Windows, because I do have a lot of files on C drive that I need. I had the Hard drive partioned in two "C" drive and "E" drive. I installed a new Windows XP Pro on "E" drive and I can acces "C" drive to see the folders and everything else, but I would like to be able to boot from "C" instead of "E" drive.
Thanks! I ran scan online with Panda,Bitdefender and Trend Micro, they found a bunch of viruses and Spyware,I have cleaned up most of then, but the rebooting still is going on.
Thanks guys!

So, so try Adware Away and then Counterspy to clean up the rest.
