Got an IBM Aptive,P200,W'95a.
Can't get into product updates. I installed the updates they said were required but still get errors. I think I need activex controls. Where can I get activex?
Doesn't it come with IE5.0?

If your talking about Windows update, I have had problems many times getting it to work the first time on several computers.
Usually I need to run the short set-up program 3 or 4 times before I can get it to work. Try running it "in-place", then closing IE, opening IE, and trying again.
Once you connect the first time you should have no problems.
You can get Win-95 downloads here also.
Select "all products" and "Win 95" http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/search.asp?
Hope this helps
Dave

Thankx-found all kinds of good stuff there.
Problem was my security settings in IE5.0 didn't have some things enabled. I got updates from this site also. Stubborn cookie
maybe? http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

To be able to use the WinUpdate feature, you must have ActiveX, Java (medium)/JavaScript, cookies and active scripting enabled. MS loves low security settings! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif

These security settings can be found (IE5) in Tools/Internet Options/Security/Custom Level. You can disable them again once you get your updates.
