Anybody got any ideas how to purchase this optimizer after the 30 day trial is up? It worked fine but now I can't get the website to come up in order to buy it. Thanks!

Dave - I downloaded an optimizer for a cyrix 6x86 chip. It seems to be the only way I can get a game to play. But the 30 day trial is up and I can't get the website for the author to come up. I don't mind paying for it but have been unable to figure out how to do that. Help???

I'm not familiar with cyrix, because i've never had one, but I betcha there are people here that would love to help you.
Maybe explain where you got this and what it is called and what it does and someone here may have it also.
maybe tell us what game you have problems with and what happens without this optimizer.

Hi gailrex, What is the name of the internet optimizer program? I've experimented with a number of them this last year. Such as "Webcelerator" and "NetSonic". I've also tried out the "Attune" program. We need to know the name of the program, the name of any specific games and "what" it does to them. Don't leave us guessin'!

Raven, I downloaded an optimizer for the cyrix 6x86 chip from this location I believe. It was written by a OGilloire @sysenhance.com. It makes the game (Microsofts Pandoras Box) think the chip is an Intel (I'm guessing). Without the optimizer I get the "illegal operation" message when attempting to play the game. With the optimizer, it worked perfectly. I'm not sure what the whole name of the program is. Does this help? Gail

It's been awhile, but I had to use used this:

cyrix fix (ftp://ftp.accesssoftware.com/lsdos/686_p.exe)

don't be alarmed that it is on the Links99 site. I beleive this is freeware. It tricks everything into thinking it's an INTEL.

I can be run as a command line from autoexec.bat file, so it is always on. It doesnt seem to hurt anything else when it is.
