Which would you buy and why? AMD K6-II 450 or K6-III 400. The K6III 400 is about 22.00 more. There is such a price jump to 500 mhz in either processor, I would'nt make the jump.

If you must go socket 7, get the 400, the extra cache makes it much faster.

They also introduced the AMDK6-2 500 mhz chip. Is still going to be slower than the K6-3 450? Prices are pretty close (about 170 bucks)

You know how the 128k of full speed cache on the celeon makes it as fast as 512k of half speed? Whell, you get both with a socket 7 setup like that, go for the 400 or 450 K6-3, but go for the extra cache.
