3 years ago I built computers using Biostar mobo. I say now ONLY Asus will do. Your retention clips were indeed suppossed to come with the mobo<b> if it's a slot one.</B> there are a number of chips out there. Make sure you got the right one for that board.
Don't try pushing it in, you could damage the Biostar, have you been to their website?<img>http://www.biostar.com.tw/</img>

Indeed I did not recieve the board with any retention clips. Unfortunately the diagrams on their manual illustrate retin clips with a warning that this configuration can change. The AMD athalon diagram for the same procedure also illustrates a very different system of hooking up the CPU + fan to the Slot A. I am at this moment completely astounded and do not know what else to do! I will not force these pins into the board. AMD had this Biostar Motherboard recomended.

I do not know what to say, can you return either the chip or the mobo? It may not be the right motherboard, Biostar makes many and they almost all look alike.
