I think this is a hangover from the previus owner, on post I get a notice of error net start and something about invalid value bindings, have no idea what this is about, goes on thru and see no problem in the operation of the comp. should I just ignor it?? this comp was used in a business, with win3.1 now has win85.

I think the commands are issued from the Autoexec.bat file in your root on C:. It is used to start up dos based network connections, if my memory serves correctly, and I'm not entirely sure if it does http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif.

Probably derived from a network logon script. Edit your autoexec.bat and/or config.sys. remove any netstart entries or you can test, using the REM or ; in front of entries that look like they maybe causing you grief.
