I am doing a re-load of my system and I can't get Office 97 to load. Other cd's work fine. This Ofc 97 CD looks good visually, with only the finest if scratches, but I get a error message: ACMSETUP & msrd2x35.DLl corrupted with error code 1114.
I have used this CD on at least 4 reloads in mine and my wife's with no problems. I even cleaned the disk with windex, still no fly.
Ideas?
Thanks in advance....

Do a search for "msrd2x35.DLl" in your Windows directory, and \windows\system, and \windows\system32. A previous installation of a different program may have installed a different version of the DLL file, and we all know what M$ is like for incorrect versions of DLL's http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

I found the offending file on the CD using "find" , but I'll try those others...
thx2
I found it in \windows\system...
Do just delete it and install Office? Or do I delete it and reinstall Windows...?
Thx3

try renaming the conflicting file in the windows folder to whatever.bak or whatever.old and see if the office install will complete.
