I got a question concerning Burning CD's. I just recently bought my first CD-RW. It was a 4x4x24 Pacifc Digital. I abtained a copy of Adaptecs 4.0 deluxe easycd and direct CD. I seem to be able to copy Audio CD's and backup data, but I can't coppy any games. Are there any programs out there to help in copying games on CD's. How does the adaptec program fair compared to the Linux OS burning utility.

What games are you having a problem with?
Lots of games are lock protected, you will not be able to copy them even with some hacking software thats on the internet you cant do it.
Just buy the game and be a happy puppy...

I've had only one game I couldn't burn. Army Men Toys in Space.
Of course the only reason I burn my games is for a back up copy only though. hehe

I like to play Tiberian Sun C & C, and SIMCITY 3000(haven't tried to burn sim yet wasted cd on TS). While at home and at work (boss doesn't know). I would rather not carry the **** CD to and frow while I have a CDRW that could burn it. I have also heard rumors that all CDRW will not except the 80 min CDS. How could I verify if mine could without wasting CD's. What are some software programs to look for to aid in burning CD's? My setup is:
Primary channel both 20 gig maxtor HD and Toshiba DVD/CD-ROM and on secondary channel Pacific Digital CDRW.
Intel Pentium 500E FCPGA with Iwill Slocket II
256MB PC100
Tyan 440bx ATX 18456 tsunami 100fsb
Antec case 250w ps
SB/live MP3+
Viper II 32MB
Thanks any info in software to aid in burning or some general tips in burning would be helpful.(**** rookie)

Try creating a disk image on your hard drive and then burn the CD from the disk image.

Mattyb,
Sorry, can't help with your specific problem but I am curious why you have your drives configured as follows: "Primary channel both 20 gig maxtor HD and Toshiba DVD/CD-ROM and on secondary channel Pacific Digital CDRW"? I have always read that CD-ROMS and harddrives should not populate the same IDE channel due to the slow down effect of the CD-ROM on HDD. Is there a specific reason you did this? TIA

I was told that your cdrw and Cd should be on seperate channels for faster copying. Also If I were to copy an image to hard drive form cdrw, it would be faster on seperate channel. Thus both hard drive and cd rom need to be on seperate channel than cdrw.
Half-life and DH3 are two games that will not copy, then there is Big Game hunter, wont copy also.So depends on what games your trying to burn..
