i picked up a used msi k9agm2 motherboard,an amd 64x2-5000+ chip and a zalman 9700 cpu cooler for 100 bucks
the cooler is missing the retention clip that was ok i figured i could pick one up somewhere but i did not notice that the number 1 sata connector plastic socket was gone does anyone know where i could get the socket and pins so i could solder it back on?

Not trying to be a pain, but why bother? Are you planning on using more than 3 SATA hard drives?
Taking it further, you got a righteous CPU and cooler for $100 with a throw-away motherboard. Throw away the motherboard and buy a real one.

Unless you are an expert at soldering and have the right equipment, chances are it will be an exercise in futility. And there is a good chance you can really bork the mobo. If it's working I would not bother. Go to Fry's and get a SATA add on card for 20$ or so and you'll get an additional connector in the deal.
